Favorite Game

My favorite game is Scattegories because it is a creative based game that is fun to play with my friends and family. It can also be a funny game because some people come up weird things.

What is Reality?

Reality is everything that we perceive is real in the past and present. It is what is present to our five senses. All non-living and living things are part of this reality. Anything that comes out of them, like emotions, are also real. Everyday, the universe shows happiness and sufferings, which are a reality. We can see these emotions. Also, reality is anything that we can hear such as crying, screaming, and thunder. We witness reality everyday when you open your eyes. Anything you can physically touch and feel is reality and when you open your mouth, you taste reality. A common phrase is, “Let’s go back to reality”. Reality for everyone is not always the same. My reality is not the same as another persons. It is how a person perceives life. In my opinion, everyone’s reality is usually the stressful part of life. You never here someone say, “Let’s go back to reality” when they are going to a vacation destination unless that person actually lives and works there. Right now, my reality is being at school, experiencing everything at Clemson, and working hard in order to get a job. When I go back to New Jersey, although everything is real there too, it is an uncommon reality to me.

Rhetoric Advertisement

Propel.jpg

This Propel advertisement was one of the only advertisements I found online that I completely understood what the argument was and how it was crafted. The ad appeals to the individuals that enjoy and thrive on counting the number of calories they intake, which is mostly targeted to average young American females. The ad can be directly related to pathos by making a women feel they can stop working out so much and stop the fear of gaining weight. The product, Propel, appears to be more healthy than Vitamin Water because of the calorie number. It suggests that you have to trust Propel in knowing they have the better product.
Something else that caught my attention in this advertisement was the spacing. Propel decided to place the product at the end of the page because it is known that the reader reads from top to bottom. When looking at the young women in distress and how much more she has to work out, it makes you question the rest of the ad. You immediately follow the page down. If the product was at the top of the page, the reader would immediately just see that and flip the page, not understanding the difference of Propel to other drinks such as Vitamin Water.

Introduction

This is a picture of me (far left) and my four good friends on graduation in June 2011.

My full name is Stephanie Nicole Ferraris. I am currently a freshman at Clemson University. Although I am an undeclared major, I hope to pursue a Communications major in the future. I was born and grew up in Little Silver, New Jersey for almost 18 years, coming this Wednesday, August 31st. My family consists of my mom, my dad, my older sister, and my two black Labrador retrievers.
I enjoy hiking, baking, going to the beach, and hanging out with friends. I was the only one out of my grade to come to Clemson from my high school so I am definitely missing home right now. However, I am really happy to be at school in South Carolina and I cannot wait to go to my first football game here!
